Emergency System Restoration Standard

This Distribution Code modification proposal are being developed as part of a joint Grid Code Review Panel and Distribution Code Review Panel working group to enable the introduction of distributed restart in the distribution systems of Great Britain. This initiative arises from the new licence condition that National Grid Electricity System Operator has to ensure that electricity supplies can be restored in line with government requirements following a loss of supply scenario on the electricity system.

Due to comments received, a second consultation was held between May and June 2023. A Final Report to Authority was then submitted A copy of the relevant modification documents are available below:
