    Report to Authority - EREP 130 Issue 3 - March 2019

    Report to Authority

    Following the meeting of the Distribution Code Review Panel (the Panel) held on 27th March 2019, it was agreed that the Report to Authority would be submitted for approval. The Panel agreed to this submission and that the modification proposals better facilitate the objectives of the Distribution Code.

    Subject to the agreement of the Authority the modification should be implemented from the date the revised Distribution Code is published. This date is proposed is the date of implementation of P2/7 which is still awaiting approval by the Authority.

    Progress Update (Phase1) – 7 February 2017

    The final DCRP P2/6 work group meeting was held on 26 August 2016. Following that meeting an update was provided to the DCRP at the Panel meeting held on the 8 September 2016. Details of that update can be found in paper DCRP_16_03_05.

    Following a number of final comments from stakeholders on the contents of the WS8.0 and WS 9.0 reports, both reports were finally submitted to the DCRP for consideration at the Panel meeting held on 8 December 2016. With the consortium’s final report submitted to the DCRP, the phase one P2/6 work was completed. At the December DCRP meeting, members were informed via paper DCRP_16_04_07a that the ENA/Network Operators were working on Phase 2 proposals which would include mapping next steps, and future interaction with DCRP. This work has commenced and an update will be provided to each DCRP meeting.

    ER P2/6 – Security of Supply

    P2/6 (ie the present version of P2) was introduced in July 2006; however its basic content is largely unchanged from P2/5 which was introduced in October 1978.

    Society and the industry have changed substantially since 1978 and it is timely to review P2, to determine if there is a need for such a standard, and if so what form a modern standard should take.

    Please find here a letter from the Chairman of the GB Distribution Code Review Panel. The letter sets out the views of the network licensees in relation to the future of the document ER P2/6 “Security of Supply” and invites responses from stakeholders on any aspect of the proposed work in particular on the assumptions etc contained within the annex to the letter.

    A DCRP Working Group has now commenced work revising Engineering Recommendation P2. Details of the Work Group meetings, agendas and papers will be posted to this site once confirmed by the Working Group.
